Commenting on the announcement that a Twilight Sanctuary out of hours metal health service is opening on Friday 27th in Haverfordwest for an initial 3 month trial period, Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire Member of the Welsh Parliament Angela Burns MS said;
“The launching of this service is superb news and a real step forward for Mental Health care in West Wales.
“The service will be offering support for our most vulnerable adults and will provide support and a safe space for them when other regular services are generally closed for the day, overnight and on Saturdays and Sundays.
“I am aware of the success of the service that has been located in Llanelli and I pleased that funding has been found to offer the same service for those that require it in Pembrokeshire.
“The Twilight Sanctuary is a service funded by Pembrokeshire County Council, Hwyel Dda University Health Board and Dyfed Powys Police and is an excellent example of the positive impact that collaborative working between different public services can deliver for the local population.
“I look forward to seeing this service prove its value to the community over the winter months and will be pushing for the service to receive permanent funding moving forward.”
